Kuan Yin Statue: Brass Sitting Compassion Kwan Yin
Small Brass Statue of Kuan Yin, the Chinese Goddess of Mercy and Compassion. People often call Kuan Yin The Female Buddha, but technically, she is actually the female Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara (also known as Chenrezig). Kuan Yin embodies the compassion of all the Mahayana Buddhas. Kuan Yin's name literally means, "Hears the cries of the world," and is known in Japan as Kanzeon, or as Kannon. Numerous temples throughout East Asia are dedicated to Kuan Yin, and wherever Chinese communities have spread throughout the world, you are likely to find a temple there. In some Buddhist temples you might find a separate "pavilion" that is dedicated to Kuan Yin.
Approximately 3 inches tall.
