This Medicine Buddha figurine measures 3.25 inches tall, and is made of brass in Nepal. The face of this Medicine Buddha figure is covered in gold leaf paint, while the medicine bowl on the lap of the Buddha has a sprouting myrobalan plant, and the Buddha is offering a branch of this plant as a blessing. This is because in traditional Buddhism, it is believed that the Buddha imparted the knowledge of medicine onto his followers, hence the Medicine Buddha statue gives reverence to Lord Buddha for this gift.
