This Large Japanese Style Buddha Statue is made of white resin and stands 17 inches tall, so it is currently one of the biggest Buddha statues that we have. The Buddha sits in meditation with both hands palm up, and this statue is for creating a feeling of calm. The meditation posture is one of the most well known Buddha poses, as it depicts the Buddha's focus and concentration on the path to enlightenment. Japanese style Buddha statues are known for having a calm appearance, that is refined and symmetrical, as the Buddha is generally depicted in sculpture with a more rounded head. The Buddha's clothing is close fitting yet loosely draped, and this statue shows off some of the customary features found in Mahayana statues.
