This is a bronze statue of the Hindu Goddess Lakshmi, who is loved throughout India as the Goddess of Abundance and Prosperity. Know as much for her beauty as her blessings of fortune and prosperity, Sri Lakshmi has been called upon by devotees since before the time of the Vedas. She appears as a consort of Lord Vishnu, and appears as the wife of Vishnu's human avatars, being born in semi-divine form as Sita (wife of Rama), and Radha (wife of Krishna).
These statues are made from a unique mixture known as bronze resin, and that allows them to have a patina (colored finish) that looks similar to an antique piece, much like aged copper. There is subtle shading to the statues; see if you can notice from the photo the subtle green tones to the dress and the slight rust tones around the shoulders.
