Ganesha Dancing on Nagas Serpents Statue, 3 Inches Tall
This is a 3 inch tall statue of the Hindu God Ganesha standing on the heads of the five-headed Naga Serpents. As Ganesh (also known as Ganapati) is the son of Lord Shiva, Ganesh is often depicted in the cosmic dance of energy to sustain the Universe, while the multiple arms depict Lord Ganesha's capabilities. The Naga Figure represents divine serpents, which are capable of taking on either a pure serpent form, or as depicted in this statue, a serpent with human-like form, or even a pure human-like form. The five-headed Naga traditionally represents the five elements or the five directions (North, South, East, West, and Center).
Nagas are closely associated with protection in Buddhism as it was a Naga that protected the meditating Buddha from the rain by slithering up behind the Buddha and unfurling its heads to shiled the Buddha from the rain.
