This statue depicts the Chinese Goddess Kuan Yin with a child, as Kuan Yin is venerated as the patron saint of barren women, and is believed to help those who wish to be blessed with children. Kuan Yin's infinite compassion is often invoked by mothers who are worried about the well being of their children. These statues are made of cold cast resin, which is an originally British technique of mixing Bronze Powder with resin to make a statue that is detailed and durable.
