The Chuang Yen Monastery is a Buddhist temple in the Mahayana Buddhist Tradition. Located in the twon of Kent, this monastery serves as the home of the United States Buddhist Assocication. Chuang Yen serves a dual role, much as traditional temples in Asia do; there are dharma lessons (instructions into the meanings of the Buddha's teachings), as well as cultural and religious ceremonies, which are open for public participation. All people, Buddhist or not, are encouraged to visit every day from 9am to 5pm. Vegetarian lunch is served on weekends from noon to 1pm. There are opportunities for anyone who would like to volunteer or make merit.
